Extensive public participation is a key component of the Community Plan update and we want to hear from you throughout the process. Your thoughts, ideas, and participation are vital for the success of this effort. Over the course of the project, there will be several public meetings and surveys where we will ask for your input and feedback on the Plan as it is developed.
How Do I Get Involved?
It's never been easier to participate and let your voice be heard. We encourage you to get informed, get involved, and have a share in voicing your opinion and spreading the word to others. Select the method that is convenient for you
• Volunteer and become a Plan Ambassador
• Attend the public meetings
• Complete the surveys
• Like us and help spread the word on social media
• Read the meeting documents
• Sign up for the mailing list
Invite us to your meeting!
Speakers are available to provide 2040 Plan presentations and updates for any interested groups. This includes HOA's, neighborhood, civic, business, or other types of organizations. Please contact Dave Hill (see below) to schedule.
How Do I Become A Plan Ambassador?
You want to volunteer and help spread the word. Great! The first step is to be fully oriented to the Community Plan. What is it? Why do we need it? How does this process work? Take the first step and get informed by watching the following video.
Once you are informed, we will add you to our Plan Ambassador Contact list. As opportunities arise we will reach out to you, our core group of informed citizens, to help spread the word, educate, and inform our fellow residents. This could be though face-to-face engagements, distribution of literature, coordinating neighborhood or special interest group meetings, social media and more.
When Are The Public Meetings?
Save the dates of February 24th-26th. There will be a number of events over the course of these three days. If you can make one meeting that week, come to the Visioning Workshop from 4-7pm on Monday the 24th. A list of meetings that week is included below:
February 24th | Visioning Workshop from 4-7pm at Duke’s Water Treatment Plant (7980 Babe Stillwell Farm Road, Huntersville, NC 28078)
February 25th | Downtown Walking Tour from 10am-12pm departing from the Arts and Cultural Center at 10am.
February 26th | Public Review Meeting from 6-8pm at Duke’s Water Treatment Plant (7980 Babe Stillwell Farm Road, Huntersville, NC 28078)
Additional meeting dates, times, and topics will be published on our homepage under “Latest News”, on social media, and emailed out to all who sign up for our mailing list. Meetings are always open to the public.
How Do I Complete A Survey?
Take the online survey at: https://publicinput.com/HCPSurvey. Tell your friends and neighbors. This is a key method for residents to share their opinions and assist in determining how they would like to see Huntersville developed in the years to come.
What About Social Media?
Are you an avid social media user? Great! We need your help. Please visit us, like us, and share it with your Huntersville friends. We want to engage with our citizens when it is convenient for them and we know social media will be a great opportunity to keep people informed.
