Extensive public participation is a key component of the Community Plan update and we want to hear from you throughout the process. Your thoughts, ideas, and participation are vital for the success of this effort. Over the course of the project, there will be several public meetings and surveys where we will ask for your input and feedback on the Plan as it is developed.

When Are The Public Meetings?
An Online Community Meeting for the Huntersville 2040 Plan was held on Tuesday June 16th from 5:30-7:00 PM. During the meeting, town staff discussed draft recommendations, community vision, and goals for the 2040 Plan. Watch it at www.facebook.com/ToH2040/. After the meeting, a comment form survey was posted to gather feedback on the topics presented. See the results on the Documents page, under Phase 3.
A series of public meetings were held between February 24th-26th. Go to the Documents page for meeting summaries.
Additional meeting dates including a public hearing before adoption will be published on our homepage under “Latest News”, on social media, and emailed out to all who sign up for our mailing list. Meetings are always open to the public.
How Do I Become A Plan Ambassador?
You want to volunteer and help spread the word. Great! The first step is to be fully oriented to the Community Plan. What is it? Why do we need it? How does this process work? Take the first step and get informed by watching the following video.
Once you are informed, we will add you to our Plan Ambassador Contact list. As opportunities arise we will reach out to you, our core group of informed citizens, to help spread the word, educate, and inform our fellow residents. This could be though face-to-face engagements, distribution of literature, coordinating neighborhood or special interest group meetings, social media and more.
Was there a Survey?
There were 3 surveys during the plan development process. More information on these surveys and what we heard can be found in the draft plan.
What About Social Media?
Are you an avid social media user? Great! We need your help. Please visit us at www.facebook.com/ToH2040/, like us, and share it with your Huntersville friends. We want to engage with our citizens when it is convenient for them and we know social media will be a great opportunity to keep people informed.
